Police foils new modus operandi of bovine smuggling

UDHAMPUR, July 29: Foiling a new modus operandi of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued three animals, which were being carried to Kashmir in a car.
Reports said that acting on reliable information, a Police Party, led by SHO Udhampur Arjun Singh Chib, laid a surprise Naka near Jakheni on the National Highway and intercepted a Xylo Car bearing Registration number JK03C-8868.
During thorough search, three bovine animals were bound brutally packed inside the vehicle.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the vehicle driver namely Umar Ahmad Batt of Bijbehara Anantnag Kashmir.
In this connection, a case under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
