LEH, Oct 23: Police Post Tangtse hosted an Archery Tournament at Durbuk under the Civic Action Programme 2024, aimed at strengthening ties between the police and local residents. The event encouraged youth participation in sports to counter growing issues such as drug addiction.
The tournament featured five teams with 15 participants and attracted a large crowd, reflecting the cultural importance of archery in the Ladakh region. Dignitaries present included Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh, Tashi Yakzi, SDM Durbuk and local community leaders.
Tashi Yakzi applauded the District Police Leh for promoting sports as a means of youth development and combating social challenges. He urged the police to organize more such events in the future. The event concluded with cash prizes for the winners, recognizing their achievements and motivating further community participation.
