RAMBAN, Feb 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ramban have organized a Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament as part of their Civic Action Program (CAP). The event, held at the District Police Line, features 16 teams from different areas within Ramban. Senior officers including DIG DKR Range Shridhar Patil, SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh and ASP Gaurav Mahajan inaugurated the tournament.
The primary aim of the tournament is to channel the energy of local youth into sports, promoting both physical and mental well-being. By encouraging participation in sports, the police hope to keep youth away from substance abuse and provide a platform for community engagement.
This initiative is part of the police’s broader efforts to build a positive relationship with the community while honouring the sacrifices of martyrs.
