Police holds ‘Santolia’ C’ship

KATHUA, Sept 22: Range Police Headquarters Jammu has organized ‘Santolia’ (Seven tiles) tournament under Civic Action Programme in different locations such as Gujroo Nagrota, Baddu, Billawar, Machedi, Mahanpur, Basohli, Sheetal Nagar and Bani areas of district Kathua under the guidance and direction of DIG JSK-Range, Jammu Shakti Kumar Pathak.
The main motive of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to organize such a tournament is to encourage youth to stay away from negative influence, drugs and bad company and to maintain polar bond between police and youth, so that youth energy is channelized in a better way.
Fifty one teams of boys and 35 teams of girls have participated from different schools and far flung areas of Kathua. Quarterfinal, Semifinal and Final matches will be played tentatively on September 25 in Basohli. There were 15 teams in which eight teams of Boys and seven teams of girls qualified for the next round.
The Principals, Teachers, staff of all the schools, dignitaries and general public present in all the locations of the tournament appreciated the welcome step of the J&K Police for organizing such a type of tournament in far flung areas of the Kathua.
The whole event is conducted under the overall supervision of the Staff Officer to DIG Jammu, Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, Dy.SP Raman Kumar and many other senior officers.
