JAMMU, Mar 26: The Volleyball Tournament, organized by Jammu Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25, concluded at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor, here today. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from eight teams and drew a large crowd of local spectators.
SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma, graced the event as the chief guest, with SDPO Akhnoor Varinder Gupta, SHO Akhnoor, Gharota, Khour and other officers of the Rural Zone also attended. Prominent members of the media and respected figures from the community were present at the final ceremony.
The final match was a thrilling contest between Pallanwala and Ambaram teams, with Pallanwala emerging as the champions after defeating Ambaram by 3-0. The winning team received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while the runner-up team was awarded Rs 5,000, along with trophies and sports accessories.
SP Rural Jammu emphasized the J&K Police’s commitment to engaging youth in sports to steer them away from drugs and other social issues. The event was widely appreciated by the local community.
