SAMBA, Oct 29: Police martyrs memorial Kabaddi tournament, organised by the District Police under Police Flag Day Programme concluded at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Stadium Smailpur under the supervision of SSP Dr Abhishek Mahajan, here today.
The final match was played between the teams of Govt. Higher Secondary School Smailpur and Govt. High School Tarore, wherein the former emerged as winner by 30-12 points.
Both the teams played with great enthusiasm. All the matches were played in a highly professional manner under the supervision of trained sportspersons.
The Kabaddi tournament is being organized in the loving memory of J&K Police martyrs who had laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the Nation.
Later, a prize distribution function was held in which both the winner and runner-up teams were awarded with trophies. Besides this, the referees of the tournament were also awarded with sports t-shirts.
SSP Dr Abhishek Mahajan congratulated the winning team and appreciated the youth for taking part in various sports events conducted by the Samba Police.
