JAMMU, Mar 28: Police Martyrs tournament was today inaugurated at Akhnoor by SDM Akhnoor, Akhil Sadhotra along with SDPO Mohan Sharma and SHO Akhnoor Harjeet Singh, here today.
The Cricket tournament is being organized in the loving memory of J&K Police martyrs who had laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the Nation.
The Cricket tournament will be played on a knockout basis. In the said tournament, eight teams of boys are participating. The inaugural match was played between Akhnoor Cricket Club and Singh Cricket Club in which Singh Cricket Club team won the match.
SDM Akhnoor appreciated Police initiatives and said such sports activities being organized by J&K Police provides a better platform for the sports persons to explore their talents and channelize their energy in the right directions.
SDPO Akhnoor on the occasion said that the tournament is being organized every year in memory of our martyrs and added that looking after the families of our martyrs has always been the utmost priority of J&K Police and thanked locals for supporting Police in all events.
