JAMMU, Apr 5: The J&K Police Open Table Tennis Championship- 2022, organised by District Police under ‘Civic Action Programme’ in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and J&K Table Tennis Association was inaugurated at Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was officially declared open by Swati Sharma, DySP North Jammu as chief guest wherein players from different districts of the UT are participating in the championship.
The chief guest speaking on the occasion congratulated the organisers for organising the tournament and encouraged the players to give their hundred percent and play in the right spirit of the game. The chief guest assured the organisers of every kind of help possible from the Police Department for the upliftment of the sport in the UT.
The first round of Cadet Boys and Cadet Girls singles was underway till the last reports came in.
Inspector Vijay Sharma (SHO Nawabaad), Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, I.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Saleem Bandey (Secretary Poonch District TT Association), Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra and Sanjeev Gupta were the prominent persons who graced the inaugural ceremony.
The matches were officiated by Gurvinder Singh Sasan (NIS Table Tennis coach), Vasu Dewan, Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma.
