SAMBA, Nov 16: Police organized a Dangal at Karliyan in Ramgarh, district Samba, under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), which was attended by a large number of local residents.
The event, presided over by SDPO Vijaypur and accompanied by the SHO of Police Station Ramgarh, saw more than 50 wrestlers (Pahalwans) from various areas competing in exciting bouts. The competition was intense, with all matches capturing the attention of the audience.
Abdul Rashid claimed the first prize (Badi Mali) after defeating Javed Khan of Jandiyal, district Jammu. The second prize (Mali) went to Hamam Hussain of RS Pura, who defeated Billu of Vijaypur in a tough match.
The SDPO Vijaypur and SHO Ramgarh felicitated the winners and runners-up, presenting them with money and garlands as a token of appreciation for their performances. The event showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and the rich wrestling tradition of the region.
