JAMMU, Jan 8: A Volleyball tournament has been organised by Range Police Headquarters Jammu in village Kaku-de-Kothe, Arnia here today.
The tournament was organised under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2023-24 in Government Primary School Kaku-de-Kothey Zone Arnia. Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Shakti Kumar Pathak was chief guest on this occasion. As per statement issued there were seven matches played. In the first match Pindi beat Fatehgarh, in the second match Arnia beat Kaku de Kothey-B, in the third match Kaku de Kothey-A beat Allah. In the fourth and last league match Sai beat Salehar and in first semi-final Kaku de Kothey-A beat Pindi and in second semi-final Arnia beat Sai and in final Arnia registered its win by beating Kaku de Kothey-A.
DIG Jammu shared that the main motive of the Jammu & Kashmir Police to organise such a tournament is to encourage youth to take part in sports activities and stay away from drugs. DDC Arnia, Surekha Bhagat, Municipal Chairman Arnia, Romesh Saini, District President Border Sunil Dutt, Sarpanch Trewa Balwinder Kour and Sarpanches, Panches from adjoining area and general public from different places were also present to boost the morale of the players.
At the end of the tournament DIG, Shakti Kumar Pathak, Staff Officer to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch (SSP), SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta, DySP Jatinder Singh Sambyal distributed cash prize, trophies to winner team and runner-ups and certificates to all the participants.
SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogan, SHO Arnia Deepak Katoch, ICPP Trewa, ICPP Kaku de Kothey and the team of CAP members from RPHQ, Jammu Sub Insp. Suresh Kumar, ASI Tarsem Lal, ASI Jasvir Singh, Sgct Sudesh Sharma, Ajit Kumar and Vikram Sharma were also present in the venue for smooth functioning of the tournament.
