Police rescues 3 bovines, arrests driver, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, Jan 11: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal today foiled bovine smuggling attempt near Londi Morh Naka point, rescued three bovines, arrested one person and seized the vehicle involved.
Police said today a team led by Inspector, Yash Paul Sharma, SHO Police Station (PS) Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan during naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area near Londi Morh naka point noticed one Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Registration Number JK02AC-8186 which was enrouted from Kathua towards Samba in connection with smuggling of bovines which was being driven by a person namely Liyaqat Ali, son of Noor Mohammad of Domail district , Udhampur.
During checking of the vehicle three bovines including two cows and one calf were found loaded in it illegally.
Police reused the bovines, arrested one person and seized the vehicle.
By taking the cognizance a case FIR No. 03/2022 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station Hiranagar and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
