Police seize 92 kgs of Tri-Pathri, 3 arrested

BARAMULLA, July 8: Police today seized 92 kilograms of forest produce Tri-Pathri (Trillium Gavanianum) from a vehicle and arrested three persons in Shreei Baramulla.
A police spokesperson said that after receiving specific information regarding smuggling of forest produce. Police Station Sheeri established naka at Malpora, Baramulla and intercepted a load carrier No.JK04A 0201 driven by Zahoor Ahmad Guroo son of Ghulam Rasool Guroo of Suzwath Goripora, Narbal along with two other persons namely Reyaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Khaliq Wani of Suzwath Goripora Narbal and Abdul Majid Khan son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Taripora Sheeri.
The vehicle was seized and all the accused were arrested on spot. Case FIR number 33/2013 under Section 379 RPC, 6 F Act has been registered in Police Station Sheeri and investigation are on.
In a similar kind of incident Special Operation Group (SOG) in Shalpora, Palhallan Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, seized two and half bags of fuki during a search operation in the lawn of Bashir Ahmad Tantary. The SOG handed over the seized fuki to the Palhallan police and police have registered an FIR No 166/2013 NDPS act at police station Pattan.
