Police will continue to promote sports in State: DGP

SRINAGAR, Sept 22:  The Annual Zonal Level Sports Championship, 2012 organized by Jammu and Kashmir police was held at Sheri-e-Kashmir indoor sports stadium Srinagar today.

Speaking on the occasion, The DGP said that the Jammu and Kashmir police will continue to promote sports among youth of the state. He complimented the zonal police headquarters for organizing the event successfully. He wished that some of the talented players could make their mark at national level. He distributed mementoes and cash prizes among winners, runner-ups and refries.
The event was inaugurated this morning by Director Youth Services and Sports Jaipal Singh.
In the Badminton, competitions ware held in senior boys senior girls junior boys and junior girls in all thirty one  participants, who have been winners and runner-ups at district level participated in these events
Owais Nazir was the winner in senior boys singles, in senior girls singles Nila Fayaz was the winner. In senior boys double Sanjeev Aroora and Nasir Hussain were the winners. Adam Ishaq was the winner in junior boys singles. Amil Ishaq and Adam Ishaq were the winners in junior boys doubles. Najila Fayaz was the winner in junior girls singles.
In table tennis, Sabeer was the winner in senior boys singles and Subair and Ubar were the winners in senior boys doubles. Sapna Kumari was winner in senior girls singles and Usman Ali was winner in junior boys singles.
In Snookers, Tawseeful Akbar was winner in senior and Imran Habib wani in junior category.            In painting, Ishfar ali, Elyana Mir and Divya Kour were the winners.
