JAMMU, Dec 15: Poonch District Veteran Athletic Championship concluded at Sports Stadium here today.
In Shot Put 60-65 years, Janak Singh, Muneer Hussian and Kewal Krishan claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Shot Put 50 -55 years, NK Sharma, Abdul Majid Dar and Ravinder Singh bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and in Shot Put 45-50 years, Iram Prakash won gold, Kouser Mushtaq clinched silver and Charanjeet Singh claimed bronze.
In Discus Throw 60-65 years, Muneer Hussain, Vijay Kumar and Kewal Krishan claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Discus Throw 55-60 years, Ashok Kumar, Koushal Sharma and Shabir Ahmed bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and in Discus Throw 45-50 years, Charanjeet Singh won gold, Sukhbir Singh clinched silver and Kouser Mustaq claimed bronze medal.
In Long Jump 60-65 years, Muneer Hussain, Balbir Singh and Sudarshan Sharma bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Long Jump 50-55 years, Devinder Singh bagged gold, Mushtaq Ahmed won silver and Jasbir Singh claimed bronze and in Long Jump 45-50 years, Ram Prakash, Ranjit Singh and Mohd Taj won gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In 100 meters 45-50 years, Sukbir Singh clinched gold, Mohd Taj won silver and Matinderpal Singh claimed bronze, while 200 meters 50-55 years, Kulwant Singh, Narinder Singh and Shakti Kumar won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Discus Throw women, Sarla Dutta (PEM), Kamlesh Rani and Tazeem Akhter claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
The Championship was organized by Poonch District Veteran Athletic Association in collaboration with District Unit of J&K State Sports Council and under the aegis of J&K Veteran Athletic Association.
The technical panel included Pawan Kumar (PEL), Ramprakash (ground in-charge) Ravinder Singh, Khurshid Ahmed, Narinder Singh (PEM), Tariq Khan (PEM) and Charanjeet Singh.
The Championship is being coordinated under the overall supervision of Nirdosh Kumar Sharma, I/c Manager Sports Stadium Poonch.
