Poonch Panthers lifts Inter District Pir Panjal Football League title

POONCH, Oct 29: Inter District Pir Panjal Football League organized by Indian Army at Mendhar culminated with an exciting final match and a glittering closing ceremony held at OP Hill Stadium, Mendhar.
Seven teams from six districts of J&K participated in the tournament.
Poonch Panthers and Naushera Knight Riders played the final match. The event was witnessed by General Officer Commanding, Romeo Force, Major General PS Bajwa, Commander Rashtriya Rifles, Rahul Yadav, DDC Poonch, civil dignitaries of Mendhar, Army Officers and large number of local population.
The event created an environment of festivities in the town and persons of all age groups turned up to witness the finals in huge numbers.
In the final match team of Poonch Panthers defeated the Naushera Knight Riders by a margin of two goals.
During the closing ceremony, a cultural programme was also organized.
The winning team in addition to the coveted trophy were also awarded cash prize Rs 60,000. The runner-up team was awarded with a trophy and cash prize Rs 30,000. Cash prize of Rs 10,000 each were awarded to Best Player, Goalkeeper and Scorer.
General Officer Commanding, Romeo force complimented each and every player who had participated in the tournaments and wished them good luck for future.
