Poonch Premier League concludes

POONCH, Nov 18: Poonch Sultan lifted the title of 2nd edition Poonch Premier League by defeating Poonch Royals by 2 wickets, here today.
Batting first, Poonch Royals scored 163 runs in stipulated 20 overs but superb batting by Shoieb Akhtar helped Royal Sultan to chase 163 runs target and made 78 runs with the help of 9 maximum along with another batsman- Jugnu. Dhawan and Vicky Qureshi finished the match in style by hitting five sixes and registered two wickets win over Poonch Royals.
The winning team was awarded with 1.3 lacs, while the runner up team got the cash prize of Rs 80000 and semi-finals teams were awarded with Rs 20000 each.
Shoaib Akhter was declared as man of the match, Irfan Khan was announced as man of the series and Imran Jugnu clinched player of the tournament award, besides Dhawan Sharma emerged best bowler of the series and Inderpal Singh was awarded with best catcher of the tournament and Aman Sharma as best umpire of the series.
Pervaiz Malik Afridi was chief organiser of the tournament. The tournament was organised in the memory of Advocate Nitish Sasan.
Pervaiz Afridi also lauded the role of Bashir Ahmed Manager Sports Stadium Poonch and CMO Poonch and her team.
Shahnawaz Choudhary DDC member Surankote A, Jameel Choudhary BDC Chairman Poonch, Basharat Hussain ADC Poonch,Taj Mir Chairman Poonch, Adv Zaman, Maqsood Ahmed CPO Poonch and many others were present during the closing ceremony.
