POONCH, Apr 24: Poonch XI defeated Star Cricket Club Surankote in a close contest by 11 runs in the final of historic Ehsas Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at College ground, here today.
A record number of 102 cricket teams of Poonch and adjoining areas participated in this mega event, which was also graced by iconic cricketer Rahul Dravid in one of the matches.
On the concluding ceremony, MLA Haveli, Shah Mohd Tantray was the chief guest, while SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey, AS Pendharkar, Commander 93 Inf Brigade and Jhangir Mir were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA lauded the role of Ehsaas Foundation for promoting sports culture in bordering district, while Parveiz Malik, Chairman Ehsaas Foundation expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed in the success of this tournament and especially hailed the support of AS Pandharkar and his team.
Pervaiz Malik was declared as man of series and man of the match in the final.
The Tournament was organized by Ehsaas Foundation Poonch and under the technical supervision of Pawan Kumar, Strength and Condition Coach BCCI, NCA and JKCA and Imran Shah, General Secretary, Ehsaas Foundation.
