In this election season when political parties in India are busy in luring people with their policies and programmes, no political party has paid any attention to the burgeoning population of the country.
It is quite dismaying that this issue has been given no place in their manifestos. The development of the country is inversely proportional to population growth. All achievements in key sectors-education, health get nullified with increase in population. There is tremendous pressure on land resources. Vast structure of land are cleared for settlement of human population. Agricultural land is being rapidly converted into commercial purposes. There is pressure on water sources to meet the demand of people and industries. While politicians are busy in convassing for their party candidates, no political party seems bothered to rake up the issue of national importance.
It is requested to all political parties to consider this issue, if not this time, then surely after new Government comes into existence.
