Poster making competition on Renewable & Non Renewable Sources of Energy held

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: A poster making competition for children was organized in Keshav Vidya Mandir Model Public School here as part of a nation-wide campaign to generate awareness about importance of energy and to dispel the misconceptions related to nuclear energy.
The topic of the Poster making competition was “Renewable & Non Renewable Sources of Energy” and it was organized on behalf of Nuclear Power Corporation of India, a Government of India undertaking.
In all, around 150 students participated in the competition. The students’ work was judged by eminent personalities.
Vikrant Singh and Pragya bagged first and second places in the competition respectively.
The School Principal, Veerbala said on the occasion that children’s expressions are an indication of their creativity.
He said, the children had portrayed the importance of energy in a very creative manner and had also showed how the production of electricity from nuclear energy did not cause much harm to the environment. He also gave away prizes to the winning children.
On this occasion, the judges also appreciated the work of the participating children and said this would increase awareness about science and energy.
On this occasion, informative material that aims at creating awareness about nuclear energy was distributed among the winning children, teachers and Principal of the School.
A series of such programmes is being organized in many States in India with an objective of creating awareness about clean energy and also removing misinformation about nuclear energy among the people.
