JAMMU, June 10: Govt Degree College Paloura and Govt Degree College Doongi today organised inter-collegiate competitions for students.
The poster making competition was held on the theme “Fight against the Coronavirus pandemic” by GDC Paloura under the supervision of College Principal, Prof Rita Bhagat and Prof Narayan Dutt, convener of the programme.
The motive of the competition was to aware the students about the COVID-19 virus and preventive measures to be taken like hand hygiene, social distancing, use of masks and other precautions.
About 44 students from the various colleges of J&K took part in the competition. The competition was judged by Prof Hans Raj, Principal GDC Khour, Dr Anil Ganjoo, Principal GDC Kunjwani and Dr Kuldeep Sharma, Principal GDC Bhaderwah.
First position was shared by Amandeep Kour, Rabia Iqbal of MBS College of Engineering and Technology Jammu and Samridhi Sharma of GCW, Gandhi Nagar, 2nd position was shared by Anuj Kumar of GDC Udhampur and Kalpana Yadav of GDC Paloura whereas 3rd position was shared by five students namely Anmol Sudarshan, Amrik Singh, Anjali Mehra, Suhani Kalotra and Roomani Panooch of GDC Kishtwar, MBS College of Engineering & Technology Jammu, GDC Jourian and GDC Billawar respectively.
Whereas Department of Hindi, Government Degree College Doongi (Rajouri) organised online essay writing competition on the topic “Social Distancing”.
The competition was conducted by Lecturer Sapna Sharma under the guidance of Dr Shamim Ahmed Azad, Principal of the College.
Anjali Devi, of BA semester-II clinched first position, while Sakshi Khajuria and Ekta Sharma of BA semester-II bagged second and third positions respectively. E-certificates were issued to all the participants and position holders.
Principal of the College congratulated the organisers and students for their active participation in the event.
