Power Hitters defeats Gopala in final, wins Summer Cup Kodewala

JAMMU, July 3: Power Hitters Cricket Club Naiwala lifted winners’ trophy of Supper Cup Kodewala by defeating Gopala Cricket Club in the final match of the Tournament which was played at Kodewala, Akhnoor here today.
The final match of Summer Cup was played between Power Hitters Cricket Club (PHCC) Naiwala and Gopala Cricket Club (GCC). Power Hitters won the final by 13 runs to lift the winner’s trophy. SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Manhas was the chief guest of the match. He was accompanied by Sham Singh Langeh (Zonal Head, All India Divyang Cricket Board of India) as guest of honor and senior cricketer Deepak Sharma as special guest.
Winning the toss and batting first, PHCC Naiwala scored 103/6 in 12 overs in which Sahil scored 37, Sunny 27 and Happy contributed 13 runs. For GCC, Shittu Sharma got 3 wickets, Rahul clinched 2 wickets and Kalu grabbed 1.
While chasing, GCC bundled out for 90/10 in 11.5 overs. Rahul Danta 26 and Jagdish Sharma 11 were the only players who touched double figures. For PHCC, Sunny got 3 wickets, Sahil 2 and Abhu clinched 1 wicket. Sahil was adjudged as man of the match whereas Jagdish was declared as man of the series.
SHO Zaheer Manhas along with other guests distributed trophies among players. Others present during the program were Raj Singh, Surinder Sharma, Ramesh Lal, Pardeep, Ajay Sharma and Arjun Nawab.
The tournament was organized by Kings XI Kodewala under the supervision of Dharminder Sharma. Pardeep Kumar was the scorer whereas Sanjay Sharma and Ashwani Kumar acted as umpires.
