POONCH, Aug 3: Power House Hockey Club registered win over Stadium Orange B in the summit clash and lifted the title trophy of the senior boys category, organized during the District Poonch Hockey Championship by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K at sports stadium, here today.
In the first half, Sohil of Stadium Orange B netted the goals in the 5th and 7th minutes thus brining the opponent Power House Hockey Club under pressure.
Tusar of Stadium Orange B maintained the lead by netting the goal in the 12th minute. Istiaq of Stadium Orange B scored the goal in the 24th minute and raised the lead over Power House Hockey Club by 4-0 goals.
In the 29th minute, Mukesh of Power House Hockey Club netted the goal and in the last minute of the first half, Rohit of Power House Hockey Club scored the goal and brought down the rising scorecard to 4-2 goals.
In the second half, Vishal of Stadium Orange B netted the goal in the 35th minute and raised the scoreboard to 5-2 goals.
In the 41st minute, Sanjeev of Power House Hockey Club scored the goal and in 49th minute, Sohil of Power House Hockey Club bounced back and netted the goal. Till the end of the 50th minute, the scoreboard came to 5-4 goals.
As the players of Stadium Orange B were finding way to further raise the scoreboard, the passionate Sanjeev of Power House Hockey Club found a loop hole and netted the equalizer goal in the 51st minute.
In the remaining 19 minutes game, players of both the teams–Stadium Orange B and Power House Hockey Club traded the goals of each other several times, but could not score goals and the match ended in a draw with 5-5 goals.
In the penalty shootout, Power House Hockey Club netted 5 goals, while Stadium Orange B scored 4 goals and thus lost the match.
On the occasion, Narinder Mohan Suri, Principal, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch was the chief guest, who awarded the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Nirdosh Kumar and Ram Parkash.
The match was officiated by Pawan Kumar, Kavleen Singh and Tusar.
An exhibition match in women section was played between Power House Hockey Club and Stadium XI, in which former registered win by solitary goal, which was scored by Ishita in 20th minute.
Ritu Sharma, Senior Lecturer was the chief guest and Jyoti Prakash, Manger, J&K Bank Rajouri was the guest of honor. RP Sharma, Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani was also present.
The tournament was held under the supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, Vice President, Hockey J&K.
