PowerGrid organises inter-school painting competition

JAMMU, Sept 30: PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II, Jammu in collaboration with the office of Chief Education Officer Jammu organized an Inter-school painting competition under Swachhta Action Plan (SAP), here today.
The painting competition was organised on the theme of “Swachhta”, wherein around 45 students of 22 schools of Jammu division participated. The painting material and all tools provided to the children were provided by the PowerGrid. Children through these paintings expressed their concern on the virtues of Swachhta and suggested various measures to make our nation free from dirt and filth.
Abhay Kumar, Chief General Manager (Asset Management) of Power Grid was the chief guest on this occasion. The judges of this painting competition were Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager (HR), Gurjeet Kour, Master SRML HSS, Rupinder Kour, Teacher HSS Bishnah and Saiqa Akhtar Khan, Teacher GHS Chak Murar.
The event was also attended by more than 30 teachers from various schools of Jammu besides senior officers and employees of both PowerGrid and office of Chief Education Officer, Jammu.
Abhay Kumar expressed his happiness in successfully organizing this event. He was particularly impressed with the talent of the participating children. He lauded the children for their contribution and urged them to be the torch bearers of the Swachhta Mission.
Bunty of GMS Sarwal, Shakti Ahirwar of GMS Sarwal, Kamlesh Banjare of GMS Mishriwala and Santbaksh of HS Chatha received 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prizes respectively. The winners and all participants of this competition were felicitated by the dignitaries present.
The vote of thanks was presented by Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager (HR), PowerGrid.
