JAMMU, Jan 12: The Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship 2025 was organized by the Powerlifting Association of J&K, affiliated with the Indian Powerlifting Federation (IPF) and Dragon House THE GYM, Talab Tillo Bohri, near Sai Baba Mandir. The event showcased impressive performances across various weight categories.
In the Men’s Senior category, the winners included Tanmay (Gold) in the 53kg category, Ayay (Gold) in the 59kg, Harsh (Gold) in the 66kg, Shuvam (Gold) in the 72kg, Aman Sharma (Gold) in the 83kg, Rajveer Singh (Gold) in the 93kg, and Karan Gupta (Gold) in the 105kg. Vishal Singh emerged victorious in the 120kg category.
In the Master’s Men category, the winners were Sumit Dhar (Gold) in the 66kg, Gurdyal Singh (Gold) in the 72kg, Nikhil Puri (Gold) in the 83kg, Girish Badyal (Gold) in the 93kg, Vikram Singh (Gold) in the 105kg, and Dr. Baba Singh (Gold) in the 120kg. In the Women’s 72kg category, Akshara Jain claimed the Gold medal.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Rakesh Kumar, General Secretary of the Powerlifting Association and Commonwealth Medalist, who was also the chief guest at the event.
