PP Singh appointed as JNHTS Jt Secy

JAMMU, Apr 5: PP Singh has been appointed as the Joint Secretary of the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament Society (JNHTS), which has been promoting hockey in India since 1964. Singh’s appointment recognizes his significant contributions to the sport both as a player and official.
Singh began his hockey career in 1984, representing Jammu and Kashmir at the state and district levels until 1992. He later transitioned to officiating, passing the State Level Hockey Umpire Examination in 1984 and continuing until 1995. In 1996, he cleared the national umpiring exam under the Indian Hockey Federation and officiated at several national matches until 2012.
In addition to his umpiring, Singh served as a live TV commentator for Nehru Hockey tournaments from 2012 to 2024. He joined the Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament Society in 2015 as a member.
Kukoo Walia, Secretary General of JNHTS, expressed confidence in Singh’s leadership and believes his expertise will help enhance the prominence of the Society’s tournaments.
