Musaif, Nityam bag man of match awards

JAMMU, Aug 26: KC Royals and Simula Strikers registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League, being organized by ZPHQ Jammu and KC Sports Club, under the Chairmanship of Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Jammu at KC Sports Club, here.
The executive/organizing committee members of the league include Bhim Sen Tuti DIG Jammu, Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu, Rajesh Sharma SO to IGP Jammu, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club, Hilal Rather, Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarters Jammu, Dushyant Sharma SP Rural, Rajesh Dhar, Sudhir Singh, Prashant Mahajan CPO Jammu, Madan Mohan DySP DAR Jammu, Sanjeev Mahajan, Vijay Saberwal and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and the Organizing Secretay.
The slogan of the league will be “Let junior cricketers feel the aroma of IPL at Jammu with J&K Police”.
Earlier, in the first match, KC Royals defeated MS Stars by 9 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, MS Stars collapsed at a meagre total of 39 runs in 11 overs. None of the MS Stars batsmen could reach the double figure mark. From KC Royals, Nityam Abrol and Abay Tandon took 3 wickets each, while Archit Mahajan claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, KC Royals chased the target easily in 7 overs by losing one wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Ranjom Singh (Chandigarh) top scored with quick-fire 20 runs off just 5 balls, studded with 2 sixes and 2 fours, while Dikshant Kundal scored unbeaten 15 runs. Sukhman took the lone wicket to fall. Nityam was declared as the man of the match with a cash prize of Rs 2000 sponsored by ACC Cements.
In another match Simula Strikers registered an easy win over Count Fitness Hurricanes.
Batting first, Simula Strikers scored 128 runs in 16 overs by losing 6 wickets. Musaif Aijaz played a brilliant innings of 61 runs, while Jasbir and Samarpit contributed 17 and 16 runs respectively. From Count Fitness Hurricanes, Parth, Gurdaat, Kartik and Ateek took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Count Fitness Hurricanes scored 83 runs, thus lostthe match by 41 runs. Amit Jha (Nagpur) scored 23 runs, while Chitwan and Nishank contributed 15 and 13 runs respectively. From Simula Strikers, Suraj took 2 wickets, while Sujal and Ashfaq took 1 wicket each. Musaif was declared as the man of the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 2000.
Ramesh Mahajan, former Chairman JKCA and Hilal Rather were the chief guests in the two matches played today, who presented man of the match awards to the players in presence of Ankush Abrol, Arjun Choudhary, Rahul Mahajan, Ajay Manhas, Rajesh Dhar and Rajesh Gill, Organising Secretary of the event.
The official sponsors of the league are Crazy Few Films, J&K Police & KC Sports Club whereas the co sponsors included Big FM 92.7, ACC Cements, Skoda, Pir Panchal Constructions, Surya Milk, Vivo, Rivazo Homes, Deccan ply , Protinex and Teg Infrastructure.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sham Singh, Ashok Kumar and Sanju.
In tomorrow’s fixture, KC Royals will take on Wheelocity Vishal Bulls at 9 am and Simula Strickers will face Vriddhi Royals at 1:30 pm.
