PPCPL: Simula Super Stars, Anantnag Kings sail into semis

SRINAGAR, June 15: Simula Super Stars and Anantnag Kings today qualified for the semifinals of the mega cricket tournament Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here.
In the first quarterfinals, Simula Super Stars won the toss and elected to field first. HK Stars scored 149 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs with Shubam Pander making 55 runs.
In reply, Simula Super Stars chased the target in 19.5 overs with Hardeep Singh making 54 runs.
Hardeep Singh of Simula Superstars was adjudged as man of the match, Puneet Kumar got most sixes award and Paris Sharma received best catch award.
The second quarterfinal match was played between JKP Tigers and Anantnag Kings. Anantnag Kings won the toss and elected to field first. JKP tigers made 121 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs with Jatin making 38 runs.
In reply, Anantnag Kings chased the target in 18.5 overs with Asif Rasool scoring 27 runs. Man of the match award was achieved by Asif Rasool. Best catch award of the match went to Mehjoor and most sixes award was achieved by Ishtiyaq of JKP Tigers.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Ghulam Hassan Bhat and SP East Harmeet Singh distributed the awards among the players.
