PPKPL underway at Zorawar Singh Stadium

REASI, Dec 13: The Finals of Pir Panjal Knights Premier League (PPKPL), a mega sporting have been started at Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi from December 12, 2014.
On the second day of tournament, Kho-Kho match was played between the Team Phillar and Akhnoor Arrows which was won by Akhoor Arrows by scoring 09 points.
Second Kho-Kho match was played between the teams of Sunderbani Scorchers and Reasi Nightingales which was won by Reasi Nightingales by scoring 11 points. Miss Shivali Sharma was adjudged the best player of the day for her outstanding performance.
In Cricket match, Youth Cricket Club, Doda defeated Chenab Champions Akhnoor with a margin of 52 runs. Master Aamir smashed quick 46 runs to secure a daunting target of 138 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, the Chenab champions could not face the pacers, led by Imran who bowled with authority, did not allow the Chenab Champions Akhnoor to build partnerships. The Champions Akhnoor played very well but could score only 86 runs.
For all-round performance, Roman Sharma was adjudged as man of the match.
Meanwhile, a grand opening and ‘Rolling the Ball Ceremony’ was conducted at Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi, in connection with the Pir Panjal Knights Premier League Championship matches.
Major General Vijay Singh, the General Officer Commanding, Uniform Force and Shabir Ahmed Bhatt, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, jointly welcomed the teams from Doda, Ramban, Reasi, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu.
A large number of people from Indian Army and civil administration besides locals were present on the occasion.
The young girls from the Kho-Kho teams of Malothi and Romeo Ravens released the pigeons as the symbolic gesture of peace and prosperity and colored balloons with posters to welcome the second phase of the mega sports festival.
On the first day, teams of Malothi and Romeo Ravens played the Kho-Kho match which was won by team Malothi.
Second Kho-Kho match was played between Doda and Poonch Eves which was won by Poonch Eves.
Farya Parvez was adjudged the best player of the day for her outstanding performances.
