SAMBA, Aug 28: Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba (PPNDGDC) inaugurated Intra college sports events with Tug of War and Lemon race marking the National Sports Day as a tribute to the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand.
On the first day, Tug of War (Boys and Girls) and Lemon Race (Girls) competitions were held. The Tug of War event saw enthusiastic participation from 20 boys and 20 girls. Team B of girls and team A of boys emerged as the winners in the competition.
In Lemon Race, 12 girls showcased their agility and competitive spirit. Ripu Devi from Semester (III) clinched the first position; Palavi Salaria of Semester (III) bagged the second position followed by Sandeep Kour of Semester (III) with third position.
Professor (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the college motivated the students to actively engage in such enriching sports. She further deliberated that such sports activities help the students to grow both mentally and physically that leads to their holistic development.
