JAMMU, Oct 23: Three ace runners from Jammu namely Prabhat Singh, Rajesh Padha and Gaurav excelled in Delhi Airtel Half Marathon held recently.
While Prabhat and Padha got into the leader-board and won 4th and 8th rank in their age categories respectively, while Gaurav Gupta, Secretary CCI was the only barefoot runner from Jammu and Kashmir, who completed Half Marathon in 2:13 hours.
Prabhat covered the distance in 1.45 hours, while Padha covered it in 1.43 hours.
About 40,000 participants from different countries participated in the event in different events of 5km, 10km and 21kms. About 12,000 athletes made their entry in Half Marathon and about 10,000 completed in different age categories.
From Jammu 30 runners took part in the Championship.
Mukesh and Dilawer clocked thier personal best, clocking 1.27 hours and 1.38 hours respectively.
The rest of the participants included Tejinder Singh SSP Jammu, Rajinder Gupta, Dr Akshay Gupta ,Indu Jamwal, Vikram Gupta, Sanju Chadha, Satpal Kalsi, Surinder Gupta, Amarjeet Singh, Ajit Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Jatinder Sharma,Vikram Sahi, Aman Gupta,Vineet Aggarwal, Nakul Saraf, Kritika, Vinod Padha ,Veenu Gopal, Sharat Sharma, Satbir Singh, Abhishek, Sandeep Singh Sanna Sharma, Col Anil Sharma, Maj Charak and Praveen Raina, who all finished with good timings.
