Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha honours meritorious students

JAMMU, Sept 16: On the eve of “Vishwakarma Pooja Diwas”, Pradesh Vishwakarma Shaba (PVS) J&K today organized a function at its headquarter, Gurha Bakshi Nagar, here to honour the meritorious students and others who have excelled in art, sports and culture.
The function was held under the chairmanship of Shashi Verma, president of the Trust. Brigadier (Dr) Vijay Sagar Dheman, Additional Director General, NCC, was the chief guest while Labha Ram Gandhi (president, West Pak Refugee Front) and Rashpal Verma, former VC of OBC Advisory Board were the guests of honour.
A total of 70 students were honoured which include Shruti Kataria, Pryanshu Verma, Rushi Verma and Shruti Verma (for their 10 CGPA in Class 10th), Nikhil Verma, Khushi Verma, Shivani Salgotra, Shobha Verma, Nandini Kataria, Anrno Rehan and Anshita (for their score of above 90% in Class I0th.
Pryanshu Verma from Majalta, Rushi Verma from Katra, Ilia Verma from Bari Brahmna, Arti Malhotra from Khour, Rya Chalotra from Sumailpur, Bharti Devi from Planwala, Tanvi Salgotra and Ayush Davgotra from Akhnoor, Jatin Verma from RS Pura, Arun Dhiman from Ram Nagar, Shivam Singh Khatri, Tanya, Kajal Verma and Mridu Aral were honoured for scoring Distinction in 10th/12th classes.
Manshi Salgotra from Bishnah, Aman Verma from Akhnoor, Yashvi Barna from Satwari, Ria Verma from Kunjwani, Ishan Khokhar from Udhampur, Nishant Puri from Bhamla, Shuvam Raina from Bishnah, Ramika Chargotra, Sahli Verma and Vaishali Verma, were scored for getting score above 80% in Class 12th.
Besides, Dr Madhu Burma was honoured for her distinguished services in Social Welfare Department, Monika Rani Bhardwaj for Higher Education, Vishal Mahotra for B Tech, Raghav Singh, Aryan Angotra and Arjun Angotra for their best performance in Sports and Pranav Chalotra for NCC.
Each honoured students was issued a “Certificate of Excellence” along with a memento.
On this occasion, sewing machines donated by guest of honour, Labha Ram Gandhi, were presented to the needy ladies of the Vishwakarma Samaj by Shashi Verma, president.
