Prajapati Sabha holds convention, elects office bearers

SAMBA, May 17: All J&K Prajapati (Kumhar) Sabha organized one-day convention under the chairmanship of Bua Ditta.
On the occasion, Ashok Badyal, Chief Advisor of the Sabha was the chief guest, whileas Capt Prem Nath, district president Samba and other members of the Sabha were also present.
While speaking, Ashok Badyal said that Kumhar community is backward in all fronts whether it would be socially, educationally or politically.
The other speakers appealed to the Government to redress the issues of the community at the earliest including permanent allotment of “pottery clay spots” so that the community could continue their earthenware pot making profession to earn livelihood.
Meanwhile, the election of the District Body of Prajapati Sabha was also conducted and Bua-Ditta was re-elected as president of district Samba unit of the Sabha.
Yog Raj has been elected as general secretary, Baldev Raj, Prem Chand and Sat Paul as vice presidents, Capt Prem Nath as cashier, Rajesh Kumar as secretary, Joginder Paul as joint secretary, Master Dev Raj as convener, Prem Lal Bittu as chief organisor and Ashok Badyal as chief advisor.
