Pranav Gupta slams marathon unbeaten century

JAMMU, Nov 10: Stylish middle-order batsman, Pranav Gupta slammed classical century against formidable Hyderabad, the second ton of the season in a drawn match of the CK Nayudu Under-23 Cricket Tournament at Hyderabad, today.
Pranav played a marathon innings of 232 balls to score 102 runs, keeping one-end intact. The match ended in a tame draw with J&K scoring 230 runs for four wickets in 94.5 overs.
According to the reports reaching here Pranav was in sublime touch in an innings which was amalgam of offence and defence. He was rock solid in his defence and displayed fluidity, grace and balance in his drives, cuts and pulls. Jatin Wadhwan, who is in good form also contributed brisk 46 runs, including 8 fours and two sixes, while Umar Nisar and Musaib scored valuable 44 and 40 runs respectively.
Earlier, Hyderabad in their first innings set a mammoth total of 626 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their first innings, thereby exposing J&K bowling line up completely. For J&K, Amir Sofi took 3 wickets, while Abhinav and Tahir claimed one wicket each. In reply, J&K were bundled out for 181 runs in 82.4 overs to follow-on. Umar Nisar was the star performer, scoring splendid 70 runs and none of the other batsmen could manage to occupy the crease for a long time.
Following on, it was Pranav Gupta alongwith the trio of Jatin, Umar and Musaif, who saved J&K from possible defeat bringing the total to 230 runs.
The team is being accompained by former Ranji trophy player, Sarbjeet Singh as coach, while BCCI trainer Pawan Kumar is the trainer.
