SRINAGAR, Sept 23: Royal Springs Golf Course is witnessing a 3-days national event, Police Golf Tournament from October 8, 2013. Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad reviewed the arrangements for the tournament at a high level meeting of police officers here today.
In the tournament more than 100 players, representing 26 States and Central Police Organizations of the country would be participating. This is 17th event of the tournament and Jammu and Kashmir Police is hosting the national event for the third time.
The first tournament was held at Shillong in October, 1996 and previously JKP hosted the tournament in 2002 and 2005. The Organization lifted the 11th championship in 2007 held in Punjab.
Mr Prasad sought progress reports from the organizing committee regarding arrangements made the national event. He was told that the arrangements for 3-days long tournament have been put in place and the sub committees constituted for the purpose are coordinating each other to make the arrangements in a befitting manner.
The DGP stressed upon the members of organizing committee to review the arrangements after maintaining close coordination at different levels and conduct the tournament smoothly. He said that elaborate arrangements should be made for the visiting players and the staff coming from different states of the country.
Earlier, the ADGP (Armed), S M Sahai, who is also organizing secretary of the tournament, briefed the meeting about arrangements made for the grand event.
The meeting was attended by ADGPs, PL Gupta and Smt. DR Doley, IsGP, HK Lohia, Rauf-ul-Hassan, SJM Geelani, AG Mir, SK Sharma, KK Saini and MA Khan, DIGPs, AS Bali, Garib Dass and S Ahfadul Mujtaba, SO to ADGP, Mansoor A. Untoo, Commandants, G. R. Dar and Altaf Ahmed Khan and other police offices.
