Prashanth-Rungkat claim doubles title in China

CHANDIGARH, Apr 15:

Top seeded pair of N Vijay Sundar Prashanth of India and Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia kept their reputation intact by winning the doubles title in the  25,000 dollars ITF Men’s Tennis Tournament in Taizhou (China) today.
It took them just 53 minutes to accomplish their task as they outplayed Jeson Patrombon of Philippines and Aoran Wang of China by 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
Prashanth-Rungkat took an early 3-1 lead by breaking their rivals in the fourth game. However, Jeson and Wang hit back and broke Prashanth-Rungkat serve in the seventh game but lost the set at 6-4.
The second set turned out to be a one-sided affair as Prashanth-Rungkat combination got breaks in the second, fourth and sixth games and won it without dropping even a single game.
Prashanth-Rungkat won 87.5 per cent service points (seven out of eight) and Jeson-Wang pair won 37.5 per cent service points (3 out of 8).(PTI)
