JAMMU, Nov 3: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School Gandhi Nagar celebrated its 64th Annual Day amidst cheer and gaiety.
The occasion was graced by Vasumana Pant, Assistant Collector, Palghar, Maharashtra. She is also an alumnus of the School of the 2009 batch.
The programme titled ‘Echoes of Ecstasy’ was put up on the occasion of the current year being the Tercentenary year of the birth of the Foundress of the Congregation of the Presentation Sisters, Venerable Nano Nagle and was a loving tribute to this Divine Legend.
The students of Classes VI to IX participated in the docu-drama that recounted the life and altruistic fervor of venerable Nano. She was a prophetic presence who envisioned walking on the path of God bringing hope to the underprivileged and the needy of Ireland.
“The Lady of the Lantern” as a pathfinder dared to walk an unbeaten track as she opened the first Presentation Convent in Cork in Ireland in 1775. Today, Venerable Nano’s lantern was kept aloft by the Presentation Fraternity all over the world, the love flame brightened through its tireless striving.
On the occasion, the meritorious students of Class XII of the session 2017-18 were also honoured with certificates for their outstanding performance in CBSE examination 2018.
The chief guest in her address lauded the performance of the students and congratulated the School for its exemplary presence in the State.
