Jammu, Apr 13: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu, today held a felicitation ceremony in the school on the publication of a bilingual poetry collection, “Sshhh… The Secret Treasure,”authored by Shranya Jandial, a student of Class 9.
At just 13 years old, Shranya has demonstrated extraordinary literary flair through this collection of original poems written in both English and Hindi. Her debut book covers a wide spectrum of themes-from personal memories and reflections to historical events and societal issues-presented with both youthful innocence and surprising depth.
Divided into three thoughtfully curated sections-General Topics & Reflections, Historical & Biographical Insights, and Other Reflections-the anthology is a testament to the author’s ability to blend emotion, insight, and creativity.
Poems such as “My First Day to School” and “Angels in Our Life” offer heartwarming glimpses into the world of a young student, while thought-provoking pieces touch on themes like youth wellness, gratitude, peace, and academic pressure.
The Historical & Biographical Insights segment is a tribute to iconic Indian figures such as Naib Subedar Bana Singh, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and Ahilyabai Holkar, showcasing the author’s appreciation for India’s rich heritage and the timeless values of courage, leadership, and resilience.
In Other Reflections, Shranya takes on more contemporary topics, addressing modern-day challenges with maturity and hope. Poems like “Beyond Stress: A Path to Exam Bliss” and “Mahabharat sa Yudh na ho” reflect her concern for a peaceful society and balanced living.
Principal Amelina Rodrigues, while speaking on behalf of the school, expressed immense pride in Shranya’s achievement and said that “It is truly inspiring to witness such talent and thoughtfulness at a young age. Shranya’s work not only showcases her poetic abilities but also reflects the values and creativity we nurture at Presentation Convent.”
