Prestigious ‘Raid De Himalayas’ car rally begins today

JAMMU, Oct 3: Five teams from Jammu and Kashmir will be participating in prestigious car rally ‘Raid De Himalayas’ which begins from October 4, 2013 at Shimla in Himachal Pradesh and will be concluding on October 12, 2013.
The team of Jammu and Kashmir is being sponsored by Gallon Builders Private India Limited.
A total of five crew will participate in the rally with 10 members including 2 women participants from J&K.
This was disclosed by the rallyists while addressing media persons here today.
They said, the first crew consists of Taufeeq Mughal as driver and Manoj as navigator. This crew is winner of famous ‘Mughal Rally 2010, 11, 12, 13/Sajoba-2011 and Raid-2010 and 2013.
The second crew consists of Dheemant Vir Singh as driver and Vishwa Vikram Khajuria as navigator. This is youngest teams of raid 2013 and both the participants are student of Government Degree College Paloura, Jammu.
The third crew, which is the women crew, will be represented by Vaneetha Kang as driver and Chestha Sood as navigator, while the fourth crew, which lifted the trophy last year, consists of Vishnu Singh as driver and Aditya Anthony as navigator.
The fifth crew consists of Syed Iffaq as driver and Tony Singh as navigator. This crew was winner of Mughal car rally in 2011.
All five teams left for Shimla for the rally and were flagged off by sponsor Gallon Builders Private Limited.
