JAMMU, Oct 9: J&K’s Prinkle Singh entered semifinals of Under-16 event and the quarterfinals of Under-12 category in the ongoing All India Super Series Tennis Tournament, being held at Lawn Tennis Stadium Sector-10, Chandigarh.
Earlier, in a Under-16 quarterfinals, National Champion Prinkle Singh, defeated Sarah Dev of Punjab in a tough contest which lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
In the first set, Prinkle was up by 4-2, from there she lost first set and again down to Sarah by 0-3 in second set, however she raised her mental strength and straight way won six games and equalized the score by one set all and in third set Prinkle displayed better skill and reached the semifinals to be played tomorrow.
In Under-16 pre-quarterfinals, Prinkle defeated Pious Modgil of Punjab by (6-2, 6- 1)
in the first round, while she got better of Saumya Saxena of Chandigarh by (6-2, 6-1).
Meanwhile, in the second event of Under-12 Super Series in quarterfinals Prinkle Singh defeated Muskan of Delhi by (6-1, 6-2), while in pre- quarterfinals, she prevailed over Driti of Hyderabad by score (6-2, 6-3).
Earlier, in the first round, Prinkle defeated Bhakti of Hyderabad by (6-1, 6-2).
