Prinkle wins National U-18 Junior Doubles title at Chennai

JAMMU, Aug 20: Prinkle Singh, a tennis player of Jammu and Kashmir today made the State proud by winning Under -18 Sub Junior Doubles title in All India National Chennai Tennis Tournament going on at Madras Cricket Club Cheapauk, Chennai.
Prinkle along with her Double partner Humera of Hyderabad were 2nd Seed in the tournament. In first match, they defeated their rivals Apoorba SB and Smiriti Singh by 6-2 and 6-0.
In quarter final, the duo defeated Urmi Pandey and Rutvi Shah of Gujarat by giving just three games and won the match by 6-1 and 6-2.
The semifinal match was quite interesting, as Prinkle and Humera lost first set to Aarja Chakarborty of Delhi and Rashmica Rajan of Bangalore by 4-6. In second set again, Prinkle and Humera was down to opponents by 0-3 but from there Prinkle and Humera played classic tennis and won 2nd set by 7-5. In the third set of super tie break the duo won by 10-4 and thus claimed the match.
In the final match with Harsha and Avanthika of Bangalore, Prinkle and Humera easily defeated them in straight sets by 6-2 and 7-5 and thus won the championship.
