Priya for greater involvement of youth in eradicating female foeticide

JAMMU Sept  22:  Terming women’s role as of vital significance in progress  and prosperity of the society, Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi, today emphasized greater involvement of youth in eradicating social evils like female foeticide.
The Minister was speaking at a function organized on Beti Bachao-Beti Padao scheme at Bishnah.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said that the Government has launched numerous welfare schemes to empower women folk socially, economically and politically. She said that youth can play a crucial part in weeding out the menace of female foeticide and domestic violence against women. “We need to come together and work hard till this evil is completely eradicated from the society”, she added.
State Incharge Beti Bachao-Beti Padao Ajay Vaid said that such programmes would be organized on regular basis as awareness is key component in successful implementation of any scheme.
Later, the Minister distributed certificates of appreciation and mementoes among the meritorious students.
