JAMMU, May 24: Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture Priya Sethi today inaugurated Jammu office of Sukhjinder Group of technical institutes at Bahu Plaza, here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said opening of the office is a welcome step and now students of the state who wish to pursue technical education can avail the admission benefit in the city only.
She said the Government is committed to the cause of quality education in the state both at school and university level, adding that new colleges and universities are being opened to provide better education set up to the students.
On the occasion, the management of the institutions announced fifty percent scholarship in admission for engineering courses of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication for girls, students of merit and SC/ST students of the state.
Chairman of the institutes Swinder Singh Gill, Regional Marketing Head Varun Gandotra, HR head Sugandha Abrol and Marketing head Aanish Mahajan were present during on the occasion.
The Chairman informed two engineering colleges are presently being run by the group, one at Dunera (Pathankot) and other at Gurdaspur. He said the college has collaboration with Government University of the Fraser Valley, Canada and students can complete their studies in Canada also.
