JAMMU, Aug 28: Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information visited Doon International School to attend Raksha Bandhan celebration, today.
The students presented vibrant cultural show which was highly appreciated by the Minister. The students of Doon International School prepared rakhies for differently abled chidren of Sahara Special School which was presented to them along with sweets and a gift cheque.  Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Sethi praised the initiative taken by the Chairman, G N Tantray, with regard to getting all the female staff insured under Jeevan Suraksha Bima Yojna.
She also highlighted the courageous gesture of Doon International School by admitting and motivating Gauri, a differently abled girl whose personality has shown tremendous growth and now she is no less than her peer group.
The Minister praised the endeavours of the Principal, Vikesh Kaur for helping to enhance the personality and confidence of not only the students but also the staff.
The Minister said that she felt that PM Modi’s dreams have come to reality by implementing the ‘yojnas’ like ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Bima Suraksha Yojna. The event was coordinated by Gurdeep Kaur, Ghazal Shah and Priyanka Singh.
