JAMMU, Sept 18: Priya Sethi, senior BJP leader, National Executive Member and former Minister, has criticised the Congress Party’s poll manifesto, which includes a promise to restore Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and termed it misleading.
Sethi criticized the Congress for what she described as misleading claims regarding the restoration of Statehood, emphasizing that the promise of Statehood has already been made by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah. So why Congress is trying to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir ?
While campaigning door to door  for Jammu East candidate  today, Priya Sethi  said that “The Congress Party’s manifesto is nothing but a desperate attempt to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Former Minister said that the promise of restoring Statehood was made by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the current Government will fulfil that promise after elections . “Sethi’s reaction came in response to the Congress Party’s recent electoral strategy, which includes a commitment to reinstate Jammu and Kashmir’s status as a State.
BJP, under Modi’s leadership, has already said  for restoring of Statehood after elections  but Congress is merely trying to capitalize on this issue for political gains Priya Sethi asserted.
She further emphasized that the current administration has made significant progress in other areas such as development and security in Jammu and Kashmir. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir are well aware of the steps being taken by the Modi Government for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
People of Jammu and Kashmir knows that promises made by Congress in their manifesto are not new and people are asking direct questions to the leadership of Congress that what they have done for people of J & K from last seventy years excepting misleading and fake promises from Congress.
Priya further stated that it is only BJP which thinks always for the people and has demonstrated a clear commitment to addressing the issues of Jammu and Kashmir.
