JAMMU, Feb 6: DIG Doda-Ramban range Gareeb Dass today ordered an inquiry into disappearance of seven teenage students from a Madrasa followed by the recovery and alleged highhandedness of Patimahal Police Post in Kishtwar district.
Seven teenagers studying in Assrar-ul-Uloom Madrasa at Patimahal had deserted the seminary fearing punishment for not learning the lesson. The head priest of the Madrasa informed the family members of the children.
The families joined the searches and the children were next day traced from the house of one of their friends at Dool.
In the meantime, the DIG said, sensing gravity of the situation after missing of seven children, aged between 13 to 15 years from the Madrasa, Patimahal police called them for questioning to ensure that they didn’t have links with undesirable elements.
Later, families of the children alleged highhandedness of Patimahal police with the boys.
Gareeb Dass said he has received the complaint and ordered an inquiry into the entire issue, which would be conducted by DySP Headquarters, Kishtwar Farooq Qaiser. The police highhandedness, if any, at Patimahal police post would be probed and action taken, he added.
