JAMMU, Aug 20: Prof VK Bhat, Director, School of Mathematics and Dean, College of Sciences, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) visited Turkey to attend International Algebraic Conference held at University of Balikesir, Turkey recently.
The Conference was organized jointly by University of Balikesir, Bilkent University and Hacettepe University, Turkey.
The conference was organized in honour of renowned Mathematicians Prof Patrick Smith (University of Glasgow, UK) and Prof John Clark (University of Otago, New Zealand) on their 70th birthday.
Both these algebraic luminaries also attended the conference.
The conference was attended by about seventy leading algebraists and about one hundred fifty young faculty, research scholars and students from thirty countries.
Latest developments in Algebra and their applications were discussed and presented during invited talks, contributory talks and other informal discussions.
Prof Bhat delivered a talk titled Completely generalized right primary rings and their extensions and also chaired a session during the conference.
