JAMMU, Nov 1: Padamshree Prof Ved Ghai was invited to deliver Shanti Gupta Memorial Lecture on the topic ‘Vigyan, Darshan Aur Sanskriti Ka Sambandh’ which was organized by MIER, here.
Prof Varun Tripathi, Director School of Philosophy & Culture, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) presided over the Lecture.
Prof Rita Jitender, former Principal, Govt College for Women Parade and an eminent social worker was the special invitee. On the occasion, distinguished educationists, members of civil society, management, faculty and students of MIER were present.
The function commenced with floral homage to Shanti Gupta, Co-founder of MIER Group of Institutions by the dignitaries and the lighting of the Lamp of Learning by the distinguished speaker.
Dr Arun Gupta, Chairman MIER extended a hearty welcome to the eminent guests on the occasion. He expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished personalities present for sparing their valuable time and gracing the occasion.
Dr Gupta hoped that the lecture would be a befitting tribute to the great educationist, Shanti Gupta.
A brief life sketch of Shanti Gupta was presented by Prof Rita Jitender. She enlightened the audience about Shanti Gupta who was a veteran educationist, gifted poetess and an emancipated social activist. Prof Jatinder also paid rich tributes to Shanti Gupta as her teacher.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER introduced the Chief Guest, Padamshree Prof. Ved Ghai as a precious gem of the land of Dogras who is well known for her dedicated services to community.
Speaking on the occasion Padamshree Prof. Ved Ghai said that science, philosophy and culture are integrally related and complementary to one another.
In his presidential remarks Prof. Varun Tripathi appreciated the thoughts and ideas put forth by Prof. Ghai in a succinct manner and said that everything in this universe is inter-related and interdependent.
Dr. Chitra Mishra, Principal, Model Academy and an eminent teacher administrator presented vote of thanks.
