JAMMU, Aug 12: Prof. Jasbir Singh from the University of Jammu’s Department of Economics has been honoured with the Distinguished Achievement Award in Political Economy for the Twenty-First Century by the World Association for Political Economy. The award was presented by Prof. Stavros Mavroundeas during the 17th Forum held at Panteion University, Athens, Greece.
Prof. Singh, who has been working in political economy since 2009, was recognized for his exceptional contributions to the field, including over 75 published papers, 11 books, and 7 research projects. His extensive experience includes presenting at over 128 national and international conferences. In 2017, he received life membership of the International Committee of the Free Economic Society of Russia. Additionally, Prof. Singh has supervised more than 18 Ph.D and 20 M.Phil scholars, with 6 Ph.D students currently under his guidance.
