Prog on sustainable development goals held

JAMMU, Oct 18: Doon International School organized a programme in collaboration with Gandhi Global family, Gandhi Peace Foundation and Centre for Environment Education and Training under the aegis of UNIC following ‘Reduced Inequalities’ as one of the 17 sustainable development goals promoting ‘equality’ and ‘non-violence’ as the two most important global issues in today’s scenario.
The programme began with an impressive welcome speech by the Principal Vikesh Kaur.
Supporting this humongous cause of transforming the world to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all, the eminent dignitaries of J&K, Rehana Batool Additional Commissioner, Anjali Sharma Director Doordarshan, Dr CM Seth eminent environmentalist and Padmashri SP Varma President Gandhi Global Family spoke on the occasion spreading awareness amongst the tender minds of the students and motivating them to be the contributory members of the global family.
Enhancing the sustainable development goals and promoting Gandhian philosophy the students of Doon International School presented heart touching plays projecting non-violence and equality through impressive dialogues and exuberant enactment. Welcome song by teachers and thematic group song stole the show with its vibrancy.
Chairman of Doon International School GN Tantray presented the vote of thanks.
Among others present were Kirtan Singh, Bimla Salathia, Suman Lata, Narinder Kour, Prabha Salathia and Yograj Singh.
