JAMMU, Mar 1: A function was organized today in the Jammu Tawi Railway Administrative Complex to highlight the achievements of the women across different fields to impart a sense of empowerment to the female staff working in the region, women wards and family members of the employees.
Speakers from different fields spoke on the occasion. Station Director Uchit Singhal highlighted the potential which a woman possesses. ADRM Baldev Raj also brought forth the need to eradicate the various social evils prevailing in the society and tackle the discriminations women employees face at workplace and their homes strongly.
Deputy SP GRP Albina Malik, DMO Jammu Dr Abhinav and Principal Vimal Muni College of Education Gharo Choudhary were other keynote speakers who addressed the gathering. On the occasion, an essay writing and painting competition was also organized for the female staff and wards. The event was followed by musical and dance performances by the railway staff with a broad overall theme of women emancipation and empowerment.
The best participations from all over the division will participate in the grand finale to celebrate the Women’s Day which will be held at Ferozpur Divisional HQs.
